Dr. Khurana believes the key to patient care is to be compassionate, attentive, and approach every patient with empathy. She believes in active listening, responding to the patients’ needs as soon as possible, and having them participate in their care-plan. She strives to follow up with patients within a suitable time.
Dr. Khurana decided to go into the field of medicine in 7th grade. She started volunteering at local hospitals and fell in love with patient care and the bonds that formed. Within medicine, the diversity of the field of gastroenterology, and the many organs involved is what made her love the subspecialty. For her, seeing patients of all ages, from all walks of life, and with many different conditions keeps the day to day interesting!
Medicine is exceptionally rewarding to Dr. Khurana, especially when a diagnosis and treatment can be offered to help improve a patient’s symptoms and condition.
Patients can expect to feel listened to, taken care of, and comfortable that there is a plan in place at the end of a visit and they should feel good knowing that as a team, we will get them feeling better.
In her free time she enjoys parks/picnics, travelling, playing with her son and dogs, volunteering at dog shelters, gym workouts, hiking, and relaxing family time.
