Kenneth Bishop, MD, PhD

As a medical oncologist, Dr. Bishop believes that high quality oncology and hematology care depends on a whole-patient approach. "It is important to consider the specifics of a disease when approaching treatment options, and it is also imperative to consider other factors such as a person's priorities and values overall," shares Dr. Bishop. "We try to never lose sight of this in our practice." Dr. Bishop believes that getting to know patients and having an opportunity to be involved in their care in their own community is what sets Sturdy apart. "There is a family-like atmosphere here which allows us to build strong relationships with our patients," shares Dr. Bishop. Each visit is an opportunity for a patient to learn about their condition and what treatments may be available, and explore which options fit best with them as an individual, and within their personal values.

Outside of work, Dr. Bishop devotes his time to his wife and two kids. He enjoys playing music and running whenever possible, he believes in the power of exercise as one of the best de-stressors available.
