Accepting new patients.
When Dr. Cailin McDeed was in medical school she learned a little bit of everything. It wasn't until she reached her third year and started her family medicine rotation that she felt she had found her place in the medical world. She always loved science and methodology, but she was surprised that it wasn't the type of medicine that attracted her most, but the relationships she formed with her patients.
Dr. McDeed's approach to care can be best defined by a quote from The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat, by Oliver Sachs, and it reads, "Biologically, physiologically, we are not so different from each other, historically as narratives we are each of us unique." She believes this is a message of unity in humanity, despite our unique walks of life, and approaches each physician patient relationship as a team effort. She will talk with the patient to see what issues they are having and together decisions are made on how to approach treatment. She also promotes preventative care and healthy lifestyles. Patients can expect a friendly ally to hep them achieve their wellness goals.
When she isn't practicing medicine, Dr. McDeed likes to spend time with her family, friends, and two fur babies, Tuukka and Katya.
