New Vice President for Patient Services & Two New Nursing Leaders
David Spoor, BSN, MHA, RN-FABC, has been appointed Vice President for Patient Services / CNO at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, succeeding Marita Prater, MS, RN, who retired after 6 years in that position. Mr. Spoor oversees all inpatient nursing functions at Sturdy. He is also responsible for managing the Inpatient and Outpatient Pharmacies, Respiratory Care, Tumor Registry, Wellness Program, Sturdy Plus Clinics and Outpatient Oncology. Mr. Spoor joined Sturdy in 2011 as the Director of Nursing – Staffing and Patient Placement. He holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from Salve Regina University and a Masters in Health Care Administration from the University of Phoenix.
There are two other additions to the nursing leadership team at Sturdy Memorial.
Andrew Raposo, RN, CEN, NRP, has taken over as Director of Nursing. He will be responsible for all in-patient nursing units, professional development, staffing office, and overseeing the resource coordinators.
Mr. Raposo is a registered nurse and paramedic with a diverse background that has included functioning as a caregiver, educator, leader, and advocate for the advancement of professional nursing. Mr. Raposo graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in North Providence, and then completed his Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from the University of Scranton. He is currently attending Western Governors University completing his Master’s Degree in Nursing Leadership.
Danielle Mason, RN, has been selected as the new Nursing Quality Coordinator. She will be responsible for nursing quality. Prior to this promotion, Ms. Mason has been working as a registered nurse at Sturdy for the past five years. She has been involved in a variety of expanded nursing functions including the mentorship program, training new staff, and actively participating in numerous hospital-wide committees and initiatives. In addition, to her Associate of Science in Nursing Degree from Concord’s Community College, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Bryant University, and recently became certified in Quality and Safety through the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
