Ways to Give

We are pleased to share with you the opportunities to support Sturdy Memorial and its mission of providing exceptional health care to the residents of our communities. Your gift allows us to improve the health of our patients by providing additional resources to invest in technology, our physical plant and community health programs.

Annual Giving

The Sturdy Memorial Hospital Foundation Annual Fund provides support for many vital Hospital services. It also allows us to invest in new technology and makes possible educational and wellness programs to help our communities lead healthier lives.

Additional funding is received from the many memorial donations given by grateful families and friends, remembering and honoring loved ones.

Bequests

A bequest to the Sturdy Memorial Hospital Foundation can easily be written into a new will or added to an existing one. It is a lasting legacy that helps to ensure a healthy future for our communities.

Gifts for Special Occasions

Honor a loved one with a memorial gift to the Sturdy Memorial Hospital Foundation. You may also designate a gift for any special occasion - a birthday, an anniversary, a holiday - or to pay tribute to a physician, caregiver or other staff member. A special letter of notification will be sent to the person honored or the family of those remembered, and you may take a charitable deduction for your kindness.

Gifts of Cash

The simplest way of contributing, and the most beneficial to the Foundation, is to make an outright gift, either by cash or check.

Gifts of Life Insurance

By contributing an insurance policy to the Sturdy Memorial Hospital Foundation, you can take a charitable deduction approximately equal to the cash value at the time of the gift. Annual premiums still to be made are tax deductible each year.

Gifts of Securities

Giving appreciated securities to the Foundation allows you to deduct the full fair market value of the stock as a charitable contribution, while bypassing all capital gains taxes.

Life Income Gifts

The creation of a charitable remainder annuity or uni-trust allows you to transfer capital assets to the Foundation now, continue to receive income from the gift, and take a charitable deduction.

Matching Gifts

Many corporations will match your gift to the Sturdy Memorial Hospital Foundation through their giving programs. Include the required forms with your gift and you can double, or even triple, your support.

Ralph P. Schlenker Golf Tournament

Each year, the Annual Ralph P. Schlenker Golf Tournament allows individuals and corporate sponsors to support the Hospital by enjoying a friendly round of golf. The event begins with a scramble-format tournament played on two beautiful courses, Foxborough Country Club and Norton Country Club, and closes with a sumptuous banquet and awards ceremony at the Holiday Inn in Mansfield. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Sturdy Memorial Foundation, allowing the Hospital to expand and update facilities, technology, and community health initiatives. View the brochure.

Real Estate

Real estate may be given outright during your lifetime through a bequest or a life estate agreement whereby you transfer the title of your home and retain the right to live there and use it for life while maintaining responsibility for upkeep.

Scholarships - Blanche and Helen Stark Memorial Fund

This scholarship is awarded by the Sturdy Memorial Foundation to high school students or graduates who are residents of Foxboro and are accepted or enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
