ATTLEBORO, MA, May 15, 2013 Ė Sturdy Memorial Hospital has earned The Joint Commissionís Gold Seal of Approval™ and been granted full accreditation by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commissionís national standard for health care and safety.

    Sturdy Memorial Hospital underwent a rigorous unannounced on-site survey earlier in 2013 by a team of Joint Commission expert surveyors to determine compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients, including infection prevention and control, life safety, leadership, and medication management.

    The Joint Commission is the nationís oldest and largest standards-setting and accreditation body in health care. Joint Commission accreditation is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organizationís commitment to meeting certain performance standards. Accreditation involves evaluating a health care organization's performance in areas that most affect patient health and safety.
