Sturdy will hold a FREE skin cancer screening on Tuesday, May 21 by appointment. Dr. Andrew Samel, board certified Dermatologist, will conduct the screenings along with Hospital nurses. Skin cancer is the uncontrollable growth of abnormal cells in a layer of the skin. Most skin cancers are caused by too much exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays. More than 3.5 million skin cancers are diagnosed each year in the United States, making it the most common of all cancers, according to the American Cancer Society.
